Initially came on a student visa from India to do a Masters in Public Health and was eventually sponsored by the state government to stay back and call the Land Down Under as home.
Have lived in the Midwest for 14 yrs and have been on MWMA since the beginning. Currently other than working with the Health Department I am active on 7 other committees. Giving back to the community that I live in is my motto. I love basketball and cricket equally and support art and music of all genres. NACC board for 20 years; 2008 group set up Geraldton Greenough Farmers Market; 8 Years on Geraldton Greenough Sunshine Festival committee. 30 years farming, practicing Holistic systems using livestock to build soil structure whilst reducing use of chemicals on soil and animal health |

My father migrated from Yorkshire and my mother was from Perth. My parents moved to Geraldton, purchased land in Tarcoola and developed housing lots, started Tarcoola Caravan Park and Ernies Roadhouse (now Puma).
Although born in Geraldton I spent some time in Perth before returning home. I continue to work in training, community services and youth work as well as volunteering with MWMA. For many years I was involved in belly dancing and am currently with dancing with the Natya Indian Classical and Bollywood group |

When my three children grew older I spent 15 years working in the Education Support Unit at Geraldton Senior High School and have been teaching English to adult migrants for about 12 years. |

Originally from New Zealand, have travelled and worked in countries around the world. Resident of Geraldton for approximately 19 years and is a TAFE lecturer in Geraldton for nearly 14 years. Former president of the Midwest Multicultural Association; involved with other organising and participating in community groups such as the Geraldton Maori community; Natya Indian Dance Group, Soroptimist, Director on the Geraldton Streetwork Aboriginal Corporation and a member of the Geraldton Baha'i Faith community.
